Three Iranian women’s soccer players who were granted asylum in Australia are reportedly returning to Iran after the regime threatened their families.
Relatives have been detained.
Some have gone missing.
The mother of Iran’s women’s national team captain, Zahra Ghanbari, has reportedly been threatened by Iranian security forces, including the Revolutionary Guards intelligence unit.
Messages were also allegedly sent through Iran’s football federation leadership warning players who sought asylum.
The entire sports world should be condemning this.
